New to blogging...

My most treasured possessions in life are of course my four children ranging in age from 26 to 19 and two grand sons who are four and five (you'll hear more about those two little treasures later.) I treasure my memories of them growing up, the fun vacations, all the sporting events I attended and Saturday mornings gathered around the TV watching the same movie for the umpteenth time! You really don't know how much you'll miss them until they  grow up and move out! It sure is quiet around my house now...(I may miss them, but I love the quietness.)

I have several treasured relationships in my life, my Aunt Sherry, my Grandma Smith (who unfortunately passed away 23 years ago), my one and only sister-in-law Veronica, Connie my mother-in-law (even though I was only married to her son for a short time, she has always treated me like family) and my BFF in life Bobbi Jo just to name a few. Each of these woman have tolerated me and loved me for who I am.

I love the hunt of a good bargain (especially if it is old (I guess I should use the word "vintage") so needless to say I go hunting every Friday and Saturday (and if I'm lucky on Thursdays) at local garage sales and estate sales.  There is a local thrift store I frequent about every two weeks, it looks like a bunch of junk, but you would be surprised what you can find in there if you're a picker...and I am a self confessed picker! My favorite find is something that brings back some of the treasured memories of my child hood - a brown cookie jar like the one my Nanny owned, or the green Frankoma wagon wheel design sugar and creamer my Grandma Smith displayed on her hutch.

I also have an old chair fetish, collect miss matched china plates, old hymnals, quilts, picture frames, vintage baby booties, milk bottles and crates! I can add to my collection list but I don't want you to think I'm a "junk" junkie!

So, the result of all my treasure hunting (and picking) was opening a booth at Old Town Village Antiques - Cozee's Restored Treasures. My first month's sales were more than I expected, my dream is to open my own shop some day. Until next time, I'd love to hear from you and what you treasure...Judy

FYI - The greatest treasure a person can have in life is to receive the gift of eternal life.
